Motifs
Select the part of a pattern worth keeping, save it as a motif, and stamp it into any later pattern. It lands on its own layer, in the same bead codes, so it can be moved, mirrored and turned before it is merged in.
Why a layer
A stamped motif sits above the pattern until you merge it, so it can be nudged a bead to the left, mirrored for the other earring, or turned a quarter, without touching what is underneath.
Shapes are the geometric tools. A template is a whole starting pattern. A motif is a piece of your own work that you want again: the border you always use, a letterform, a flower.
Motifs are saved to your account and are yours alone. Each one carries its bead codes, so the count for a pattern that uses it is right the moment it is stamped.
Stamp a motif drawn on a loom grid into a brick pattern and it is shown on the brick lattice, stagger and all, so you can check how it reads before you merge it.
